Consolidation of Power-any thoughts?

Hi there. I just wanted to post a quick (albeit undeveloped) thought on an issue of current-relevancy and was wondering if anyone would like to contribute a quick thought or two.

The current trend of consolidating power in our society (e.g. political environment) is anathema to one (or more) of the better qualities of our system of government. Let us not forget the original ideas and the thoughts and prayers that were put into our system and let us study its foundations to remain vigilant and steadfast against encroachments to our liberties and freedoms.
